Broker's international M&A practice appoints Marius Stolarskito to lead new Polish office
The International Mergers and Acquisition Practice of Willis Group Holdings has expanded into Central and Eastern Europe (CEE) with the launch of a new team headquartered in Warsaw, Poland.
The global insurance broker has appointed Marius Stolarski as leader of the new regional practice.
Stolarski recently returned to Warsaw after a lengthy secondment to both Willis’ German M&A Practice in Frankfurt and its UK M&A Practice in London. During that time he worked on various transactions including a number of projects in the CEE.
The Willis CEE M&A Practice will focus on the provision of due diligence, buying and selling side transactional insurance products, portfolio company requirements and services arising from mergers, acquisitions, divestments, reconstruction and formal insolvencies.
Willis says clients will include private equity firms, investment banks, strategic investors, professional firms and major corporations.
Commenting on the practice’s expansion, Stolarski said: “I’m proud to further strengthen the practice group with a CEE presence. Major investment has been planned for the region and with the growing number of deals we see a tremendous demand for our risk management services. Historically, risk management in CEE was not a priority for investors, but they are rapidly recognising the value added by our services.”
Alistair Lester, International Practice Leader of Willis M&A, said: “Our investment in the CEE region is the latest step in building a global footprint of M&A capabilities supported by Willis’ extensive local office network. With Marius’ sought-after international M&A training in both Germany and the UK, we believe he is ideally positioned to provide the best-in-class service and advice that Willis’ clients enjoy.”
The Willis M&A Practice is a global network of over 80 people who provide insurance products and services to the investment community.
