China success creates new programs for high growth markets
Willis has announced plans to expand its global graduate program in 2008 with high growth markets being targeted for the first time.
Huge success in China will seen the number of places available to students rise from 14 to 20 next year, while the number of graduates recruited in the US will double from 10 to 20.
In 2008 students have been recruited for India, Russia, South Africa, Poland, the Czech Republic and Dubai.
Willis’ graduate program operates across numerous territories, including the UK, in both the London and Ipswich sites, and the US. The scheme offers on-the-job training in specialist areas and supplementary training from human resources in Client Advocacy, sales and presentation skills, which represent just some of the differentiators of the program.
Graduates work in teams across the business on strategic initiatives, gaining valuable insight into the workings of the company and building up their project management skills, the company said in a statement.
Willis chairman and chief executive, Joe Plumeri, said: “Our aim is to deliver a world class graduate recruitment and development program. This will ensure the success of the leadership of tomorrow and also position Willis as the Employer of Choice.”
Josie Mula, Global Head, Graduate Recruitment and Development, added: “The success of the graduate program has led to an overwhelming demand from students, so we are delighted to be increasing the number of places available in 2008. As we continue to diversify our program going forward, our graduates will have the opportunity to work in our overseas offices and gain exposure to different cultures and people.”
At present, Willis has over 16,000 employees working from 300 offices in 100 countries.
