Danny Walkinshaw reviews the week on the web

Visitors have flocked to Insurancetimes. co.uk this week for a wealth of online content including a number of big news stories and picture exclusives.

Insurance Times and sister title StrategicRISK were on hand last week at the 2009 Airmic conference in Bournemouth to deliver breaking news from the event, as well as a photo gallery of highlights from the risk management extravaganza. Pictures from the Airmic beach party proved particularly popular.

Another photo special soon followed as Insurancetimes. co.uk subscribers hurried on to the site after the story “Burma protester climbs Lloyd’s” landed in their inbox featuring pictures of the protester climbing the building to the amazement of Lloyd’s staff.

Go to the Photo Galleries section of the site to see these and more exclusive pictures.

Insurancetimes.co.uk also revealed that HSBC Insurance’s chief executive Martyn Capewell had left the company amid developments at the organisation.

The insurance industry latched on to the news of a new insurance boss at the FSA, with Ken Hogg – currently of MGM Assurance and formerly of AIG Life – stepping up to fill the void left by Sarah Wilson.

And eyebrows were raised as Aon’s UK leader Peter Harmer announced his decision to return to Australia after almost two-and-a-half years of working in London. News of Patrick Snowball’s departure from Towergate Financial Services proved popular this week, as did John Kitson’s blog.
