A round-up of the latest insurance stories online
Insurancetimes.co.uk was a hub of excitement when we revealed details of our Fair Fees campaign.
Brokers logged on to detail their angst over the massive hike in regulatory fees and levies. Our comment section was alive with individual stories on how business was being affected.
We also showcased some of the many comments from letters and emails that we received before we launched the campaign.
Keep an eye out for more campaign updates online, and remember to add your voice to the throng.
There was also a frenzy of acquisition news online. Top of the list here was the news of Fortis snapping up Kwik-Fit Insurance. Our online subscribers were among the first to read about the deal when it was announced early on 2 September.
CCV’s fifth buy of the year and Canopius’s move for Lloyd’s motor insurer KGM were also both popular, although both fell outside our top 10.
For the second week running, the story “Insurance workers ‘most likely to hit the bottle’” got a huge number of clicks. It claimed the number two spot and, if anything, shows that our online audience loves to read quirky stories once in a while.
The FSA claimed the top spot once more after it revealed the details of bans handed out to three insurance professionals involved in a £2m fraud. The story was also picked up by a number of other sites across the web.
Online readers also couldn’t get enough of our mystery blogger, Sid, whose latest blog also performed well again.
