New GDPR compliant VisionTrack device aims to make video-based telematics more affordable for personal lines policyholders
VisionTrack is launching a GDPR compliant telematics camera designed specifically for the insurance sector. It aims to offer an affordable telematics solution for personal lines policyholders.
Telematics devices have traditionally been out of reach of most personal lines policyholders, as the equipment needed can come with a hefty price tag. The new VT2.3G is a more affordable solution.
It will work with 3G, has HD recording and insurance grade GPS and G-sensor.
VisionTrack’s offering also includes the option for white-labelling. An online portal and an app, through which footage can be watched in real time, are available. It can provide First Notice of Loss (FNOL) alerts and predict driver behaviour.
VisionTrack managing director Simon Marsh commented: “With changes such as Ogden and IPT significantly affecting the prices of policies for consumers it’s great to be able to offer a new GDPR compliant product that will make video based telematics affordable for personal lines and bring substantial benefits to the bottom line of insurers and brokers.”
Marsh added, “I’m passionate about road safety and I truly believe that what we are doing will, in the long term, help prevent road incidents in the first place. There is an enormous benefit both to the consumer and the insurer in terms of security and ease with claims liability and I’m delighted to be the first business bringing these cameras to the UK market.”
