Endurance Speciality Holdings: The property/casualty insurer and reinsurer said potential claims from Charley would impact its third quarter earnings by an estimated $43m to $48m.

Odyssey Re: The reinsurer said its initial estimate of losses from Hurricane was approximately $20m, on an after tax basis.

White Mountains Insurance Group: The Bermuda-based insurer and reinsurer said it expects net pre-tax losses from Hurricane Charley to be no greater than $45m. This does not include claims from Montpelier Re in which it owns a 21% stake, or Olympus Re which provides capacity to White Mountains.

Swiss Re: The reinsurer said it expects claims from the hurricane to reach approximately $200m before tax.

Everest Re: Based on initial assessments, the reinsurer said it expects losses to reach about $40m, net of tax, to be recorded during the third quarter of the year.

Montpelier Re Holdings: Initial loss estimates are between $48m and $63m, said the Bermuda-based reinsurer.

Arch Capital Group: The Bermuda-based insurer and reinsurer said it expects net losses of between $24m and $44mfor the third quarter as a result of claims from Hurricane Charley.

Nationwide Mutual Insurance Company: Nationwide, which said it is the third largest property insurer in Florida, said it expects more than 50,000 claims relating to the hurricane, resulting in losses of about $380m. Nationwide said it insures more than 300,000 homes and nearly 305,000 vehicles in Florida.

Max Re: The Bermuda-based company said its preliminary estimates had indicated that Hurricane Charley losses will reach between $6m and $9m, accounted for in its third quarter results.
