Simon Wilmot-Smith and David Thompson formally of Art Inc have joined Underwriting Risk Services Ltd (URSL), the specialist underwriting agency, which is owned by Talbot Holdings. They will initially be writing a fine art and specie, terrorism, contingency and “commercial combined” property account.
Underwriting exclusively on behalf of Lloyd's and London Company insurers, the business as a whole will immediately benefit from a much wider distribution network of some 400 intermediaries. URSL will be taking over the underwriting, processing and settlement of claims on all current business and will take responsibility for the run-off of business that incepted after July 2002.
