Ex-AXA partnerships director will lead MGA’s personal lines push in Scotland
UK General has launched a drive to build its brokered personal lines business in Scotland after hiring iGO4 commercial director Karen Hogg (pictured).
The managing general agency has appointed Hogg, who is also a former strategic partnerships director at AXA, as business development manager for personal lines schemes in Scotland.
Hogg, who joined iGO4 last year after departing AXA amidst a shake-up of the insurer’s personal lines division, starts her role with UK General in June and will be based in Glasgow.
Paul Everett, Sales Director Personal Lines at UK General said: “Our ambition to expand business in Scotland requires a top industry professional with a track record in delivering market-leading client service and profitable growth and we have found that in Karen.
“Our intention is to close the gaps that exist in the provision of specialist and niche products and schemes in Scotland, enabling brokers to respond to emerging opportunities presented by their customers.”
Hogg said: “UK General has identified the significant opportunity for tailored personal lines schemes among Scottish brokers which reflects my own knowledge and experience of the region and market.
”UK General, as the UK’s leading specialist schemes provider, is well positioned to fill that gap and help brokers expand beyond mass market products.
