Broker G J Sladdin sets up bespoke leisure scheme
UK General Ltd has launched six new commercial schemes in eight weeks as it continues expand in the UK schemes market.
The Leeds-based specialist insurer’s schemes trade in the leisure sector, opticians, property owners and the catering market.
UK General’s head of commercial schemes Tony Bloomer said: “Tailored propositions for specific groups of customers, sharing a common need, is at the heart of the recent scheme submissions we have seen, and these new launches reflect that.”
He continued: “I’m sensing an increasing shift towards this kind of targeted, bespoke proposition and away from block transfers of general business which are often used as the basis for schemes. This is good news for brokers and clients alike as the true nature of a scheme is to offer something better than generalist products. The market is adopting this thinking which bodes well for future growth.”
Broker G J Sladdin and Co Ltd based in Halifax, has launched a bespoke leisure scheme incorporates pubs and restaurants as well as guest houses, cafes and other associated businesses.
G J Sladdin’s managing director Geoffrey Sladdin said: “As a well established insurance broker with many years as a schemes operator, we have tried many Insurers for scheme facilities and there are always the in depth questions to be answered. Quite often this ends up in protracted negotiations. We came across UK General and from the first day of contact found their appetite for establishing new schemes to be quite refreshing.”
“Although exercising the same degree of diligence as others, they were nevertheless appreciative of urgency and desire of new schemes to be implemented. Such has been the sympathetic and quick response in their establishment, we will be looking to place other schemes with them as well as our clubs pubs and restaurants.”
