UIB names new operations head

London-based (re)insurance broker UIB has promoted Steven Pallett to the newly created position of executive director, operations and administration.

Pallett was previously UIB’s marine technical director and has already worked centrally on many UIB market reform projects. As operations and administration director, he will report directly to chief executive Philip Tuite Dalton and will oversee a range of operational changes across UIB.

In 2012 Pallett will assist Tuite Dalton with a number of central operations and administration issues. These include leading the implementation of a new operating system and helping develop the operating system strategy for the UIB group.

In addition, Pallett will be responsible for identifying procedural weaknesses and ensuring standardisation of technical and operational procedures throughout the company. He will continue to be responsible for all London market e-commerce initiatives at UIB and act as the focal point for all such projects.
