Misys Financial Systems was told to pay a five-figure sum to a former employee after he won an employment tribunal for unfair dismissal.

David Maiden was made redundant in March from his job as a technical consultant after eight years' service.

His solicitor Paul Roberts, of Birmingham-based Anthony Collins Solicitors said the result was a vindication.

He said: "As the tribunal heard evidence, the picture emerged of a company in disarray. The company were not even able to provide a diagram of the management structure to clarify Mr Maiden's role."

A spokesman said it was not Misys Financial Systems' normal policy to comment on personnel issues.
