Staff at Towergate-owned Border Counties Insurance Services offered roles in Newcastle office
Towergate is closing its Hexham office at the end of the month and moving the roles to its Newcastle office.
The office in Northumberland, which trades as Border Counties Insurance Services, was bought by Towergate-owned CCV in 2010.
Towergate is consulting with the staff about the move.
The team of eight, headed by office manager John Neill, have been offered roles at Newcastle.
Following the closure of Hexham, clients will be serviced by the Newcastle office.
The Border Counties brand will continue to trade out of Newcastle. It places commercial and personal lines insurance.
A Towergate spokeswoman said: “[The closure] is not part of any specific strategy to merge offices but is part of the normal churn of a business of our size and substantial regional footprint.
“Roles in the Newcastle office have been offered to employees at Border Counties.”
