Former chief moves to consultant role

Towergate tlc has appointed former sales and marketing director, Andy Smallwood, to managing director.

Towergate tlc, formerly known as THB Clowes, was acquired by Towergate for £10m in December last year. It provides specialist and high risk covers, including Formula One and professional rugby. The business controls over £40m GWP.

Smallwood will replace Paul Dudley, who will remain at Towergate in a consultant role.

Amanda Blanc, chief executive of Towergate’s retail broking division, said: “Both Paul and Andy have been instrumental in successfully integrating Towergate tlc into the Towergate family. Andy’s promotion is richly deserved having displayed talent and drive since joining Towergate last year.”
