Towergate has acquired military insurance specialist Forces Direct, as part of its planned expansion programme.
Towergate group chief executive Peter Cullum said: “Forces Direct is an excellent fit for our existing book of military insurance through Towergate Wilsons.
“Its £3m gross written premium is largely military personnel motor and this is an area into which we wish to expand in support of our military kit and home insurance specialists in Towergate Wilsons.
“Forces Direct also has excellent relationships with the US military and Diplomatic Corp in the UK and this opens an additional market niche for Towergate.”
Towergate chief executive Tim Johnson added: “This is the latest in what will be a whole series of acquisitions supporting our existing businesses.
“There are enormous synergies to be obtained from the two businesses, which moves Towergate into pole position in this specialist market.”
