Towergate Underwriting today launches the third London markets team in its Geo Specialty business in four months
Towergate Underwriting has today launched another London markets team, with its Geo Specialty business, bringing the total up to three.
International contractors, plant, and machinery is now live. It follows political violence, which was launched in August when Geo Specialty was set up, and liability, which launched shortly afterwards.
International contractors, plant, and machinery will be led by newly-recruited Chris Thomas, who joins from Contego Underwriting.
Political violence is led by Marcus Meredith, and liability is led by John Murphy and Glenn Marshall.
Geo Specialty Managing Director Nick Grazier said of the appointment and launch: “We’re delighted to have Chris on board – his 11 years underwriting in company market, syndicate and latterly MGA have given him a great understanding of the challenges across the underwriting spectrum.”
He also teased of more launches in the near future:
“We’re looking forward to expanding contractors, plant and machinery into North America, Europe, and Asia Pac, and to exploiting the synergies between Chris’s team and Marcus’s.
“These two markets are a great start for Geo Specialty, and we’ll be adding more in the coming months as we build the business.”
Meanwhile, Thomas said he was “delighted” to be part of the venture and that is was “just the beginning of building a broader construction team and proposition.”
