Towergate has appointed Lisa Siggery as group risk officer, subject to FSA approval.

Siggery will join Towergate later this year from IAG UK, where she is leading the Solvency II programme and the risk and compliance teams.

Towergate group chief executive Andy Homer said: "Lisa joins Towergate at an important stage in its development, where it is now absolutely crucial that we maintain our stringent supervision of risks across of all of our businesses.

"She brings to Towergate a wealth of knowledge and experience in Solvency II and her judgement in regulatory risk management and governance is second to none."

Following Siggery's appointment as group risk officer, Simon Gifford will resume the post of group claims director after a period of secondment into the group risk role since January 2011.
