Broking group TL Dallas has launched a new company called Dallas Kirkland (Professions) to offer tailored products for the professional services sector.
Dallas Kirkland will concentrate on IT contractors, interim managers and white-collar engineers working through personal service companies.
The new company will be run by Robin Kirkland, who has more than ten years' experience in insuring UK recruitment agencies as an approved supplier to the Recruitment and Employment Confederation.
Kirkland said the size of the self-employed professionals market was already substantial and would grow as the trend for short-term contracts continued.
“These high-earning, self-employed professionals have come under pressure to take cover against potential claims from clients and employees,” he said.
“We're very close to the recruitment market and realised that, as litigation is becoming more widespread, a growing number of contractors would require protection in the same way that companies do.”
Kirkland will package the professional indemnity, employers' liability and public liability products so professionals new to these insurance concepts can easily understand them.
He will sell to brokers that have been approved by the General Insurance Standards Council.
