Integro has poached three senior figures from rival Guy Carpenter to head up a new international insurance and reinsurance business unit.
Julian Samengo-Turner and Ron Whyte, who formerly led Guy Carpenter's global facul-tative reinsurance business unit, will head up the new London-based unit, as well joining the board of Integro in the UK.
Marcus Hopkins, previously head of Guy Carpenter's UK facultative reinsurance operation, has also joined Integro.
Roger Egan, chief executive of Integro, said: "Our plan is to develop an independent insurance and reinsurance alternative to what is currently available in the marketplace.
"We will do this by estab-lishing an Integro presence in the major market centres throughout the world, and enhancing our existing presence in London, Bermuda and Stockholm."
The unit will provide worldwide insurance and reinsurance business capabilities for independent brokers and partners.
Guy Carpenter responded to the departures stating that it expected to announce new leadership in the near future.
It said that the departures would not disrupt services and added that it remained fully committed to the global facultative marketplace and would "look forward to continuing our growth plans in this arena".
