THOMPSON Heath & Bond, the Lloyd's broker, is to float next month with an estimated market value of £30m.

The flotation on the Alternative Investment Market would raise about £5m which the company would use for acquisitions, it said.

THB chairman Vic Thompson told the Financial Times he had been approached by six Lloyd's brokers all keen to be bought out over the last month.

THB, which is ranked 43rd in the Insurance Times top 50 UK brokers, acquired the formula one and motorsport broker TL Cowes group last year.
