Moore commended for his work in the financial services sector
Thomas Carroll Group chairman John Moore has been awarded an MBE in the Queen’s birthday honours for his work in the financial services sector.
He has also been commended for his charitable services to Ty Hafan Children’s Hospice in Wales.
Moore said: “My immediate thought is that this is an honour that reflects deservedly on all at the Thomas Carroll Group. We have achieved our business success together, sharing a common ethos that supports, develops and rewards our people, placing our clients at the heart of everything we do.
“In accepting this honour I will do so on behalf of our entire group, and the people, industry and clients whose dedication and support over the years makes me immensely proud.”
Moore joined Thomas Carroll as managing director in 1981 when the company employed just eight people.
The broker now employs more than 130 people across four regional offices in Swansea, Haverfordwest, Hereford and Caerphilly.
Managing director Rhys Thomas said: “This latest honour firmly establishes John as one of the most respected figures in the insurance broking profession.
“It reflects his immense and infectious drive and spirit that has inspired the growth and success of our group over the past thirty three years. As a group we are also overjoyed that Ty Hafan also shares in the citation for this tremendous honour.”
