Third leisure scheme for independent MGA
Thames Underwriting has launched a new scheme for sports, social and leisure clubs.
It will be led by underwriter Stewart Croker, who joined the company last month and was previously new business manager at Towergate-owned CCV Underwriting sports and leisure.
Thames already offers schemes for caravan parks and touring caravans.
The new product offers combined business insurance with the wording aimed specifically at sports and social clubs. Director Keith Syrett said the independent MGA would also alter its wordings to offer liability or property cover in isolation, and quote for non-standard construction projects.
The capacity is provided by A-rated insurers Inter Hannover and Great Lakes.
“The policy wording is comprehensive for the sector, it covers most of what we believe a club will need. We pride ourselves on service and understanding the market,” said Syrett. “We feel we have the ability to build a quality account of well managed and well-run clubs.”
Thames hopes to sell the cover mainly via brokers that already distribute its caravan products.
