Max Taylor, deputy chairman of Aon Ltd, has been appointed chairman-elect of Biba.
The former chairman of Lloyd's will take on the role from July 2004 when incumbent chairman Hamish Ritchie's stewardship ends.
Taylor will become involved in the running of the organisation during a handover period between now and July.
Ritchie said Taylor's knowledge of key issues, such as regulation and liability, would be of benefit to Biba.
