AIG agency dealTravel and personal accident underwriting agency BSU has appointed AIG Europe as the sole underwriter for its personal lines travel insurance products Escape and Escape Gold.BSU, which has an annual premium income of £5m, said it was currently working with over 350 insurance brokers in the UK.

Kwik-Fit pet moveKwik-Fit Insurance Services has launched a pet insurance division as part of its planned expansion programme. It said turnover had increased by 35% during 2003, reaching £33m, making 2004 a prime time for expansion.

Aviva's new FDAviva has poached Lloyd's finance director Andrew Moss to become its new finance director.After a seven-month search, Aviva said Moss would join the company and receive £540,000 of shares and a pay package potentially worth more than £1m a year. He will be awarded options worth £440,000 through Aviva's long-term incentive plan.

Fortis for OASysFortis' Shopkeepers, Office and Surgeries, Property Owners and Homeworkers products will be the first Fortis products to go live on Misys' OASys Commercial system.Fortis said the Shop-keepers product would go live during the first quarter of 2004, followed by the remaining products. All will be fully integrated with Misys' back-office systems, said the company.

Geo survey serviceA ground stability advice service has been launched by the British Geological Survey (BGS) to help reduce the risks associated with building developments on potentially unstable lands.The service, called GeoSure, uses digital technology to identify natural subsidence hazards, and can be used throughout England, Scotland and Wales. The service is based on a computerised geological map of Britain, said BGS.
