Birmingham follow Manchester as second regional branch opening
Sterling Insurance Group has opened a new branch in Birmingham.
The branch is Sterling’s second regional opening following from Manchester in January 2012.
Sterling Insurance head of personal and commercial insurance David Sweeney said: “We have made a commitment to our brokers to growing our regional presence and the opening of this new branch is a clear demonstration that we keep our promises. The Birmingham insurance market is hugely important to us. While Sterling has been building its brand and reputation throughout the Midlands over recent years, establishing a presence on the ground will enable us to get even closer to brokers across the region.”
Kirk Peattie has been named branch manager. He has held positions with Towergate and Ecclesiastical before joining Sterling in 2011.
Sterling opened its Manchester branch last year in a bid to increase its presence in the north, describing Manchester as the “gateway to the northern market”.
The insurer recently appointed Simon Hodgin as northern regions manager to oversee the development of its Manchester branch, and Gerard Hamilton as regional development manager, Scotland.
