Commercial underwriters join Sterling from AIG and Aviva
Sterling Insurance has added two senior underwriters its commercial new business and development underwriting teams.
Nicholas Hartley and Andy Hulme have been appointed as senior development underwriter and senior underwriter respectively.
Hartley, who has joined from AIG where he spent the last two years as a senior development underwriter in the south east, will be responsible for the team of development underwriters, the development of new business and he will also act as a referral point for the existing business team.
As senior underwriter heading up Sterling's commercial new business team Hulme will be responsible for leading and driving the team to develop new business routes as well as acting as a referral point for the new business underwriters. He was previously a European underwriter in Aviva's property owners team for over three years
Both appointments will report to Sterling's director of general insurance David Sweeney, who said: “The two new appointments will not only assist our drive for commercial growth but will greatly assist the development of technical understanding and expertise of our underwriters.”
“These appointments are further demonstration of our commitment to the commercial insurance and broker markets.”
