Sterling hires AXA's Donoghue as new commercial boss

Sterling Insurance Company has appointed former AXA area underwriting manager Kevin Donoghue as head of commercial underwriting, a newly created role.

Donoghue will be responsible for developing and managing the underwriting strategy and providing strategic leadership to the underwriting teams. Donoghue will report directly to David Sweeney, director of general insurance.

At AXA, Donoghue was area underwriting manager for London and the South East and is an associate of the Chartered Insurance Institute.

Sweeney said: "Kevin has worked in the insurance industry for over 30 years and will bring a wealth of experience. His longevity within the industry will be a real benefit when developing business opportunities and key broker relationships.”
