White Hart Lane suffers most car claims, Wigan comes last
Churchill says car claims over the past four years near premiership football clubs rank Spurs as the league leaders with cars there have a 59% above average chance to crime.
Wigan Athletic’s JJB Stadium is the real champion as motorists in the area are least likely to have to make a car insurance claim.
Churchill’s worst top ten (percentage above average):
- Tottenham Hotspur White Hart Lane, N17 - 59%
- West Ham United Upton Park, E13 - 46%
- Aston Villa Villa Park, B6 - 45%
- Manchester United Old Trafford, M16 - 34%
- Arsenal Emirates Stadium, N5 – 27%
- Manchester City The City of Manchester Stadium, M11 - 23%
- Middlesbrough Riverside Stadium, TS3 - 22%
- Fulham Craven Cottage, SW6 - 20%
- Chelsea Stamford Bridge, SW6 - 20%
- Portsmouth Fratton Park, PO4 - 20%
James Murray, spokesperson for Churchill and a Spurs fan, said: “Spurs may not be finishing in the top four of the Premier League this season but White Hart Lane has come top of our car insurance league of claims.
“Our research shows that motorists living near Premiership football stadiums are more likely to make a claim on their car insurance. This is because traditionally, football stadiums have been built in inner city areas with high population densities. Areas with high population densities are more likely to experience car insurance claims, possibly more so on match days when the areas are crowded. On the flip side, the newer grounds in non-residential areas see fewer car insurance claims.”
