The current crop of coming-and-goings has forced some companies to go to new extremes to stop staff from defecting to rivals.
This week Backchat learned that one company has hired a private investigator to follow staff who are currently on gardening leave.
The staff in question are supposed to be at home watching daytime TV, but the company suspects they are already working for new employers.
Backchat is not at liberty to take sides on these issues, but does sympathise with those being followed, because they are having to take the long route into the office each morning.
