Underwriter offers new accident and health practice and expands marine, film and engineering underwriting teams
ProSight Specialty Underwriters has announced several additions to its underwriting team as it continues to grow its presence at Lloyd’s Syndicate 1110 and expand into new lines of business.
Roger Perry, Paul Beggy and Matt Bevan joined ProSight last month to lead a new Accident and Health (A&H) team that works in tandem with other ProSight business lines to bring enhanced A&H offerings to the market.
All three join ProSight from Canopius, with Perry joining as lead A&H underwriter, while Beggy and Bevan have both been appointed A&H underwriters.
ProSight said the expertise of the new A&H team would give it scope to write larger and more international based risks.
ProSight managing director Bernard Mageean said: “Another key advantage is that A&H covers are very accretive to many schemes and affinity style arrangements. We are now able to broaden out not only our A&H offering but also enhance our P&C offering as well.”
ProSight has also made three other recent appointments, which include:
- Jeremy Cooke to contingency underwriter within ProSight’s film and entertainment segment. Formerly from Chubb, Cooke follows the recent appointment of John Young, ProSight’s film and entertainment underwriter.
- Tom Butterworth as marine underwriter, leading ProSight’s expanding marine account.
- Jamie Jeffery as engineering underwriter. Jeffery has more than 19 years’ experience and joins ProSight from AXA.
Mageean said: “These appointments add significant bench strength to our underwriting capability and are a testament to our business that we can attract such talent.”
