Former NU chief joins broker as non-executive director
JLT has appointed former Norwich Union boss Patrick Snowball as a non-executive director.
Snowball will take the post from 1st November 2008. His appointment follows that of John Paynter who joined the Board on 1st October.
JLT board director Bob Scott will retire at the end of 2008 and Chris Keljik will retire at the AGM in April 2009.
Bob Scott is currently Senior Independent Director and that role will be assumed by Nick MacAndrew with effect from 1st January 2009. Chris Keljik is currently Chairman of the Remuneration Committee and John Paynter will take over as Chairman of that Committee following the AGM in April 2009.
JLT chairman Geoffrey Howe said: “We are delighted to welcome Patrick to the JLT Board. He has been an outstanding figure in the insurance industry for a number of years and his broad experience both in the UK and internationally will be of great value to us."
According to a report in the Daily Telegraph, Snowball was expected to name Ian Darby as the head of Towergate Financial today. Snowball will remain chair.
