Panel of experts to include BBC security correspondent and former Assistant Secretary of State to President Clinton
Biba has announced a line-up of heavyweight speakers for its 30th conference and exhibition next year.
The conference will take place in Glasgow between 30 April and 2 May, and will feature pop singer and campaigner Sir Bob Geldof and BBC security correspondent Frank Gardner. Both will make keynote presentations.
In a statement Biba said: "In a new departure for the event, our opening keynote session will consist of three experts in their fields who will share the stage to debate the vital global issues for the next decade."
The debate will be moderated by BBC TV business presenter Declan Curry.
The "influencing tomorrow" debate will feature a panel of experts, including:
· James Rubin, former Assistant Secretary of State and chief spokesman for the State Department under President Clinton. Since leaving government, he has been Visiting Professor of International Relations at the London School of Economics, a partner at communications consultancy, Brunswick and a regular commentator for the FT, BBC, CNN and Sky News.
· Stéphane Garelli, Professor at the International Institute for Management Development and the University of Lausanne. He is also the director of the World Competitiveness Centre.
· Dr Noreena Hertz, leading political economist and fellow of Cambridge University. She is an influential advocate of ethical globalisation, who believes that corporate social responsibility can deliver increased profits.
Biba chief executive Eric Galbraith said: "In order to allow as many members as possible to attend the conference and exhibition all employees of Biba member firms will now be able to attend free of charge."
As in previous years, the keynote sessions will be supported by a programme of industry-focused seminar sessions and the largest insurance exhibition in this country.
