Law firm to set up an office in Singapore
Kennedy’s, the insurance law firm, has become the latest company to announce a move into the expanding Singapore insurance market.
The company confirmed this week that it will be setting up an office in the country. It already has an office in Hong Kong.
It is thought the company was looking to take advantage of the Lloyd’s Asia platform, which was set up in 1999.
Meanwhile Benfield is to open an office in Beijing to supplement its Shanghai office, opened in 2003.
Its Shanghai office has been approved by the China Insurance Regulatory Commission (CIRC) to be upgraded to the status of a general representative office.
Dominic Christian, chief executive of Benfield’s international division, said the two Chinese offices would work closely with the Benfield Asia regional head office in Singapore to serve clients across Greater China.
