Insurance solutions provider Green Flag Group has agreed a deal with Shell Capital, the financial products arm of the Royal Dutch/shell Group, to provide a range of breakdown assistance packages to Shell customers.

Green Flag Group business sector manager Michael Henderson said: "Our partnership with Shell is a great example of how Green Flag Group can help leading brands add to their product offering.

"By partnering with Green Flag motoring assistance, it [Shell] is able to offer customers an added-value service which will take the company into new areas of motor related products."

Shell Breakdown Assistance offers three cover levels that include home call as standard and are at a fixed rate, so there are no hidden extras. All levels provide assistance wherever the motorist is in the UK.

The Shell deal follows closely on Green Flag's three-year agreement with MG Rover, to provide motor insurance across the entire MG Rover range.

Part of the Royal Bank of Scotland, Green Flag Group was created in 2000 through the merger of Direct Line Partnerships and Green Flag Limited.

It employs over 2,500 people and offers a range of products including motor, breakdown, travel, home and pet insurance.
