Standard & Poor's said it lowered four pi ratings and gave two new pi ratings to non-life insurance companies during December.
Pi insurer financial strength ratings are based purely on information available in the public domain, said the ratings agency.
The two companies to receive new ratings were Alm Brand Forsikring AS, Denmark, and Fair Forsikring AS, Denmark, which were both given BBpi (marginal) ratings.
Generali Versicherung AG, Austria, Interunfall Versicherung AG, Austria and Italiana Assicurazoni SpA, Italy, all had their ratings lowered from BBBpi (good) to BBpi (marginal). Provinzial Nord Brandkasse AG, Germany had its rating lowered from Api (strong) to BBBpi (good).
