Insurer adds three products to joint platform.

Rural Insurance has launched three online products through its joint Rural and Primary General online trading platform.

The products, including smallholders, horse and personal accident, are available alongside the existing online policies offered by its sister company Primary General.

Simon Taylor, marketing director for Rural and Primary General, said: “The three new Rural online policies will not only be available to Rural brokers but to our complete network of online users. We believe that all our brokers, whether they principally trade with Rural or Primary General, should have access to our growing portfolio of online policies.”

The joint online trading platform gives both companies’ brokers access to all online products with the speed and efficiency of a full-cycle, self-service internet underwriting tool while also providing access to a local underwriter for extra assistance.

The Smallholders policy caters to small farm businesses and provides cover for commercial, home and legal Expenses. The horse policy provides a range of cover for both horses and ponies, while the personal accident and sickness policy provides compensation for injuries or disablement resulting from an accident or sickness.

The addition of three new products means brokers can now quote on and manage 11 different policy types of SME business, with professional indemnity and directors and officers’ to follow by June.
