Agriculture insurer boss stepping down
Rural Insurance founder Lance Harvey is to retire from the business at the end of September.
Harvey, who set up the Harrogate-based firm in 1995, steps down after 17 years at the business, which is part of the UK General Insurance Group.
He was deputy chairman and will not be replaced, said a Rural spokesman.
Rural managing director Simon Stevens said: “As the founder of Rural and its driving force over much of its history, Lance will leave behind a considerable legacy of achievement that we are working hard to build on.”
Harvey said: “I have thoroughly enjoyed my time at Rural and would like to thank all my colleagues and the supporting brokers that I have worked with over the last 17 years, which has passed by so quickly. The business is in excellent shape, and I have no doubt that Simon and the team will continue to build Rural’s presence in the agricultural insurance market.”
