The Rubicon Corporation, a provider of outsourced solutions and services for the insurance industry, has launched a new car product for NAAFI Financial.

Rubicon said it has developed cover that, for the first time, is tailored to meet the unique requirements of military and MOD personnel, and their families based in the United Kingdom.

The company said this includes laid up cover for periods when personnel are deployed overseas, and airside cover for those personnel who need to drive their own vehicles on bases.

Al Voice, managing director at NAAFI Financial said: "We've offered a good range of policies to military personnel and their families in the past but, listening to what our policyholders have told us, we just haven't been competitive enough.

"The team at Rubicon...have brought together a strong panel of insurers, including Norwich Union, which will allow us to be as competitive as any provider, as well as providing a level of cover that military and MOD personnel require.

"Personnel will be able to get quotes and buy over the phone through Rubicon's dedicated call centre, but as the web has become ingrained in military life, Rubicon has developed an online quote and buy facility to service the new product."

Rubicon's online quote and buy facility will be rolled out across the entire range of NAAFI Financial's personal lines products by early 2006.

Stuart Webb, chief operating officer at Rubicon adds: "With around a quarter of a million military personnel, there is a significant market for NAAFI Financial to target.

"We believe our services, together with ease of access and competitive pricing, will help NAAFI Financial increase its market share and grow its revenue from this line of business.

"We look forward to creating more personal lines products for the NAAFI Financial portfolio in the future, and are already working on a buildings and contents product for UK-based personnel. We hope to introduce this early next year."
