New management line up revealed; trading director Jon Woodman departs.

RSA has announced the structure of its new commercial business unit, headed by Paul Donaldson.

This follows last week’s announcement by new chief executive Adrian Brown that the insurer will be streamlined into two business units – commercial and personal.

Commercial will be organized in three business segments - Global, UK Mid Market and SME / Volume.

The SME / Volume business will be headed by Ken Norgrove. Norgrove takes over from Andrew Burke, who is moving to RSA's Emerging Markets business as chief executive of the Baltic region.

RSA has appointed Aaron Devitt to the newly created role of Strategic Relationship & Sales Director. Devitt will be responsible for the development of RSA's most important broker accounts where co-ordinated execution of its proposition is critical to success

Paul Hirst has joined the Commercial executive team as Commercial Development Director.

Colin Bradbury and Ian Currie will continue to look after Underwriting and Motability respectively.

Paul Donaldson, managing director, Commercial, said: "We've simplified our structure to reflect how brokers want to trade with us. These changes will improve our regional presence and service. I've always felt our regional heartland offers strong potential for profitable growth. Our new structure gives us the platform to grow both volume and specialist lines in the regions and to build on our strong positions in Risk Solutions and International business traded in London."

As a result of these changes, Jon Woodman's role as Trading Director has disappeared and Woodman will leave RSA at the end of the year.

Donaldson said: "Under Jon's leadership, Trading has become a real strength within RSA, we've developed a stream of new propositions and repositioned our underwriters as true 'traders'. I'd like to thank Jon for the significant contribution he's made to the Group over 24 years. Jon leaves as an advocate of RSA and I wish him every success in his future career."
