Risk Managers are to meet in November to discuss the implications of the September 11 terrorist attacks.
The two-day conference of the Southeast region of ALARM conference will urge public sector organisations to focus on the public sector risk issues, such as terrorism and reputational risk.
Representatives from companies who lost colleagues in the Twin Towers attacks will also tell delegates how their companies coped.
In a bid to revise guidelines for teachers holding school outings, the conference will also address the perils of educational outings.
In the past five years, more than 20 children and several adult supervisors have died on school trips. Workshops will address group safety and fire prevention.
ALARM South East Chairman Sharon Roots said: "The Conference gives public and private sector attendees the opportunity to receive advice and guidance on a variety of Risk Management issues."
Around 150 delegates are expected to attend The National Forum for Risk Management in the Public Sector.
The conference will be held on November 6th and 7th at the Latimer Conference Centre in Buckinghamshire.
