Direct Line’s customer focused strategy is leading to outstanding motor results, but other insurers performed well
Insurance Times can reveal the motor underwriting performance of the major UK insurers for 2017.
The growth or decline in net earned premium is also revealed in the infographic.
The regulatory returns, analysed by our data journalist and former actuarial consultant Matt Scott, reveal that all but two of the major insurers made an underwriting profit, with epecially good results for Aviva and Direct Line Group (DLG).
DLG stood out from the pack because of its ablity to grow premium and make underwriting profits. The firm is praised for its added benefits and features which is winning the hearts and minds of customers.
