Three independent directors, with European experience, join the board

Resolution Limited has appointed to the board three further independent directors, with experience and expertise across the European financial services industry.

Jacques Aigrain, Gerardo Arostegui and Mel Carvill will be appointed with effect from 1 February 2010.

Aigrain has spent most of his professional career in the insurance and banking sectors. He was the CEO of Swiss Re between 2006 and 2009, having previously held the positions of Deputy CEO and Head of Financial Services at Swiss Re. Prior to that he was at JP Morgan for 20 years, holding several senior positions in the bank’s investment banking division.

Arostegui retired as CEO of Aviva Spain in 2008. During his 23 year career with Aviva, he led the creation, through acquisitions and organic growth, of one of the leading bancassurance businesses in Spain. He has extensive experience across the European insurance and asset management sectors.

Carvill worked at Generali from 1985 until 2009. He held a number of senior positions in the group, including heading a major part of the international business outside Italy, working on the restructuring of Generali’s asset management group and leading mergers and acquisitions. He is currently the Founder, President and CFO of PPF Partners, a private equity firm, and Generali joint venture.
