Royal & SunAlliance (R&SA) will transfer 1,200 jobs to India over the next two years.
The Indian-based employees would carry out a range of front-line customer service and back-office administration roles across both R&SA and its direct arm More Th>n, the company said.
This follows a six month pilot, which started in March this year, involving 100 roles across More Th>n motor sales, servicing and claims.
The company will adopt a phased approach to scaling up the operation in India over the next two years.
The move is expected to deliver annual cost savings of more than £10m.
