Royal and SunAlliance (R&SA) has settled a £9m legal battle with a construction company over the refurbishment of a West London property for an undisclosed sum.
Construction company Carillion had been contracted to refurbish Warwick House, an office building in Kensington Village west London.
It is understood the tenant made a claim against Carillion after it failed to refurbish the property as expected.
The construction company subsequently issued a writ against R&SA after there was shortfall in the amount paid out by the insurer under its indemnity policy.
Carillion alleged Royal and SunAlliance was in breach of its obligations under the insurance policy.
It said that the insurer was liable to pay £9,668,582 for the cost of repairing or replacing suspended ceilings at the property
A spokeswoman for Royal & SunAlliance said the matter had now been settled, but would not comment on the terms.
Carillion declined to comment.
