As predicted by Insurance Times yesterday, Royal & SunAlliance has confirmed that Paul Spencer is to leave the company. He will be replaced by Duncan Boyle as chief executive of the company's UK operations.
Spencer has resigned as a main board director with effect from 31 March 2002.
He joined the company in 1996 as group finance director before going on to become chief executive of the UK company in 1998.
R&SA said Spencer had decided to pursue career opportunities outside the group.
Duncan Boyle has been managing director of R&SA's UK commercial insurance division since 1999. His replacement in that role will be Peter Webster who is currently managing director, Latin America & Caribbean.
