Robert Rae becomes head of new manufacturing division
Royal & SunAlliance (R&SA) has appointed Robert Rae to the role of Head of Manufacturing. Rae began his role on 2 January, having previously worked at listed chemicals group Yule Catto for almost 10 years.
Prior to this position, Robert worked at International Paint, a manufacturer of protective coatings for marine and aerospace equipment, before joining Holliday Chemical Holdings, and rising to the position of Joint Chief Executive. In total, he has over 32 years experience in the chemical and manufacturing industry.
The manufacturing trading unit is a new addition to R&SA’s broker division and will focus on building on the insurer’s existing book of manufacturing business.
Commenting on the appointment, Jon Woodman, trading director of Broker at R&SA, said: “Robert’s significant experience in the manufacturing industry has given him real insight into the operation and needs of businesses in this sector. This knowledge will be crucial as we look to grow our existing manufacturing portfolio and establish this new division as one with a high level of expertise and a great understanding of its customers.”
