Medical opinion provider responsible for Accord’s administration
Premier Medical Group has been appointed as administrator of the approved list of medical experts for the South Wales Medical Experts Accord, a panel of specialist personal injury solicitors in the region.
Premier will be responsible for the overall administration of the database of medical experts developed by the Accord to help local lawyers identify suitable medical experts for injury cases.
Premier’s role will include the day-to-day administration of the database with a focus on performance management including specific requirements on the quality and turnaround times on reports. Premier will also provide access to additional experts from its own network in Wales. The Accord panel will continue to approve new medical experts added to the list.
The Accord was established in response to Lord Woolf’s Access to Justice Report in the late nineties, which included the concept of single medical experts in personal injury claims. The objective was to minimise areas of disagreement and so reduce cost and delay.
