Smith will handle RSA’s relationship with Aon, Marsh, JLT and Willis
RSA has handed responsibility for the insurer’s dealings with the four biggest global brokers to Philip Smith.
Smith will take on the role in addition to his current post as chief executive of RSA Ireland.
He will take over the reins from Paul Donaldson who retires in March, and the duo will work together on the transition until then.
RSA group chief executive Simon Lee said: “Philip has an outstanding record of delivery and under his leadership, RSA has grown to become the number one general insurer in the Irish market. Philip has also established an excellent network of internal and external relationships and progressive partnerships with our key business providers.
“I’d also like to take the opportunity to thank Paul for the very significant role he has played in making RSA the success it is today. He has given over 37 years’ service, first in our Irish business and then leading UK commercial, before moving to his current role in 2011.”
Smith said: “We enjoy strong relationships with our key brokers around the world and I look forward to building on the tremendous work that Paul has done in establishing these as we continue our drive for profitable growth in partnership with them.”
