Pen Underwriting has appointed Adrian Scott to the newly created role of head of cyber liability.
In his new role Scott will be responsible for developing Pen Underwriting’s capabilities in cyber risk management and insurance.
He joins Pen from Ridge Global, a cybersecurity firm founded and headed by former US Head of Homeland Security Tom Ridge, where he was executive vice president and chief underwriting officer.
As part of Pen Underwriting’s Specialty division, Scott will report into Jennifer Martin, Managing Director of Financial Lines.
The division manages UK and international business across the spectrum of e-traded, individually underwritten and delegated authority solutions. The team also specialises in crisis management, cyber liability, professional indemnity, directors & officers, and personal accident & travel.
Martin said: “Strong broker demand for cutting-edge propositions to best protect their clients has seen cyber fast become a crucial and core capability for us.
“Adrian’s appointment to build and lead a dedicated cyber practice, further demonstrates our commitment to actively attract and retain the industry’s best talent for the benefit of our brokers and their clients.
“His extensive experience and mix of development, leadership and client service credentials makes him ideal for this demanding role. It’s fantastic to have him on board.”
Scott added: “In cyber insurance, the speed, efficiency and flexibility of your platform are just as important as the technical underwriting expertise that underpins it – as is the need to take a holistic approach to client risk exposure.”
