The London P&I Club has warned its members of the dangers that can arise from the operation of hatch covers, it said today.
It said it needed to remind its members of the level of care needed to ensure the safety of the personnel involved.
The club said a number of maritime authorities had reported incidents involving hatch covers in recent months.
