Insurance broker Opus has decided to offer its commercial customers accident packs to crack down on fraudulent insurance claims.

The Opus Accident Pack includes a disposable flash camera, incident report form, pen and prepaid envelope for developing film to help drivers to record the details of any accidents they are involved in. Its nationwide launch follows a pilot scheme in the North West.

Research by the ABI concludes that fraudulent claims cost insurers and policyholders up to £20m per week.

Opus head of fleet insurance Tom Betts said: “In an increasingly "blame and claim" oriented society, accident packs are an essential addition to the glove compartment. We are providing this tool to help businesses process their vehicle insurance claims quickly, honestly and efficiently.”

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.

Hosted by comedian and actor Tom Allen, 34 Gold, 23 Silver and 22 Bronze awards were handed out across an amazing 34 categories recognising brilliance and innovation right across the breadth of UK general insurance.
